Southwest Airlines is having a fare sale and response has overwhelmed the company's website.
The Associated Press - Southwest Airlines has extended its nationwide fare sale by another 24 hours. The move comes as the carrier's website has bogged down from bargain-seekers flocking to the site. Southwest.com started showing persistent slowness – and even error messages – Wednesday afternoon.

The sale launched Tuesday and had been scheduled to end at midnight Thursday (June 4), but Southwest say that's now been extended to Friday to give customers more time to take advantage of the sale.
